In the Spotlight:

Courtney Eby, Case Manager

Where are you from and where do you live now?  I am originally from an area close to Houston, Texas.  I went to school in Raleigh, moved to Asheville for a couple of years, and now I’ve returned to Raleigh.  I’ve been here for two years this time around.

Name two things you consider yourself to be very good at.  I am good at talking with people and I am good at remaining calm when things get a little out of control.

What's your favorite food? I love any kind of pizza, and of course, chocolate.

What did you do before you came here? I did an internship at Elaida Homes for two years and then worked in Raleigh with kids with cognitive disorders.

Where would you like to travel? I really want to go to Spain, especially the remote areas.  I took a lot of Spanish in high school and college and got to talk about some of the most remote parts of Spain; the whole country sounds beautiful and interesting.

What did you get in trouble for when you were a kid?  I’m the oldest of five so I was always the good kid and didn’t get into too much trouble.  Having said that, however, occasionally I got in trouble for not keeping my room clean or for getting bad grades, like a “C”.

If stranded on a desert island, what 5 things would you have to have?   I would want books, chocolate, someone else to talk to, music, and maybe a boat to travel around the island.

Do you have other comments you’d like to share with everyone?  Just be patient.  Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it but we really are accomplishing good things for the children.
