*MAR must now be taken once per year as a refresher course. Nurse Cynthia does a great job and they have been scheduled in different locations for convenience.
*TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) training is mandatory for one foster parent in each TFC family. It will not be possible to continue with a series if a class is missed since each class builds on the previous ones. Each person will receive TCI certification after passing the required tests. Completion of training provides most credits needed for year. Trainings will begin in Haywood (for Haywood and Jackson families). Classes in Macon and Cherokee counties to follow. Please call Bob McCleary at 273-2616 with questions about TCI.
CLIENT RIGHTS – Mandatory Training
A client rights training will be offered in each of our 3 areas beginning with our Haywood/Jackson area (to be followed by one in Macon County, then one in Cherokee County, dates TBA). At least one foster parent in each family must attend one of these 3 trainings. Please RSVP for the Client Rights training to Rene’ McCleary (r.mccleary@grandfatherhome.org) and to your Case Manager.
Macon/Jackson SUPPORT GROUP will be meeting the 4th Wed. of every month. Please make an effort to attend and meet some other foster families in your area.
Far West SUPPORT GROUP will continue to be held the 4th Thursday of every month.
**Each support group will include a mini training which provides 1 ½ training hr. credit.
Please contact your Case Manager or Rene’ McCleary at r.mccleary@grandfatherhome.org if you need the MAR refresher course (required yearly) or CPR. These will be scheduled on an as needed basis.
