Circle of Courage Tour

D. CircleYou’re Invited!
The children of Grandfather Home would like to invite you to the Circle of Courage lunch and tour of Grandfather Home for Children's Hayes campus. Please join us at 12:00pm in the Joseph F. Cannon Building at 158 Grandfather Home for Children Drive, Banner Elk, NC.

The Circle of Courage tour is for anyone who would like to learn more about the children and families Grandfather Home serves.  The program was created to give the children an outside audience to show their hard work off to and to educate the public on the struggles these children are working to overcome every day.  The program starts at 12pm and usually ends around 1:30pm.

Program
I. CircleWe begin with a lunch and an introduction of the Home, with an overview of the programs and children served here. We then have a moment for questions and begin the tour part of the program by going inside one of the cottages on campus.  Here you will have a chance to see how the children live, what they like to do, and understand the treatment they are receiving from the highly qualified staff who work with them.  Our next stop is Grandfather Academy where we visit the classrooms and learn about the strong emphasis that is put on education.  The children will then present some of their accomplishments to earn a feather in their Circle of Courage wheel. After they share their art, sing their songs, and read their poems the tour will return to the dining hall for cookies and answer any lingering questions.
